Landmark Title Company was founded in 1977 by local attorney Phil Lam. Under his leadership, the company thrived until its sale to a group of local investors in 2009. Phil remained a valued part of Landmark until his retirement in 2016, at which point our current management team took the helm. Today, Landmark Title continues to grow and thrive as we enter a new decade of service. 

We take great pride in conducting thorough and efficient title examinations, which we believe are the cornerstone of a successful closing. With decades of experience behind us, we handle transactions of every size—from single-family homes to large commercial properties and expansive multi-acre tracts. In fact, we've proudly closed some of the largest real estate transactions in Wichita Falls—and we’d be honored to close the most important one: yours.

We’re also deeply committed to our community. We support local Realtors through active involvement in their associations, and we give back by contributing to organizations like Faith Mission, Faith Refuge, the Food Bank, and other local charitable causes.

Jody Bussey

    Jody Bussey joined Landmark Title Company in June 2016 and currently serves as our Managing Partner and Majority Owner. A proud graduate of Petersburg High School (Class of 1997), Jody went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas A&M University in 2007.

    Jody is married to Ryan Bussey, and together they share five wonderful children. She is actively involved in their lives, dedicating much of her time to supporting their extracurricular activities and school events.

    Beyond her family and professional responsibilities, Jody is deeply committed to the Wichita Falls community. She serves on various local committees and supports numerous charitable organizations through both service and donations.

    Her leadership, dedication, and heart for the community are an essential part of what makes Landmark Title Company the trusted name it is today.

    Kayla Crowley

      Kayla Crowley is married to her husband, Scotty Crowley, and together they have three children and three grandchildren. Kayla and Scotty enjoy traveling and spending quality time attending their grandchildren’s activities.

      For Kayla, family is everything, and her strong values and love for her family shine through in everything she does—both personally and professionally.

        Shaylee began her journey with Landmark Title Company in 2017, initially helping out by cleaning the office on weekends. After graduating high school in 2020, she transitioned into a processing role and quickly proved her dedication and skill. Today, she proudly serves as one of our Escrow Officers and Closers.

        Shaylee is married to her loving husband, Jared, and together they enjoy traveling with their dog, Niko. If you’re lucky, you might catch Niko curled up in Shaylee’s office, enjoying a well-earned mid-day nap.

        Shaylee’s attention to detail, dedication to client service, and genuine warmth make her an essential part of our Landmark team.

          Marci Avery joined Landmark Title Company in April 2023, bringing with her a wealth of experience in the title industry. She currently serves as an Escrow Officer and Closer, where her knowledge and attention to detail play a key role in ensuring smooth, successful closings.

          Marci is married to Phillip Avery, our in-house Title Examiner, and together they have two sons. In her free time, Marci enjoys sipping coffee and spending time outdoors, making the most of life’s simple pleasures.

          Her strong work ethic and friendly, approachable nature make her a valued member of the Landmark team.

            Phillip Avery joined Landmark Title Company in November 2022 and brings with him over 15 years of experience in the title industry. His extensive knowledge and sharp eye for detail make him one of the most trusted and respected Title Examiners in the region.

            Phillip began his career in 2008, working as a landman alongside his brother in West Texas, which sparked his interest in land records and title work.

            Outside of the office, Phillip is a big fan of the Grateful Dead and enjoys spending his weekends playing disc golf.

            Phillip’s depth of experience and laid-back nature make him an invaluable part of the Landmark Title team.
