Landmark Title Company was founded in 1977 by local attorney Phil Lam. Under his leadership, Landmark built a strong reputation for trusted title and closing services throughout the area.

In 2009, the company was purchased by a group of local investors, continuing Landmark’s tradition of local ownership and personal service. Phil remained an important part of the company until his retirement in 2016.

Today, Landmark Title is led by Jody Bussey, managing member and majority owner. Jody has been part of the Landmark team for more than 10 years and brings an extensive background in oil and gas, along with valuable experience in the title industry.

With decades of experience behind us, Landmark Title handles transactions of every size, from single-family homes to large commercial properties and expansive multi-acre tracts. We take pride in conducting thorough and efficient title examinations, which we believe are the foundation of a successful closing.

We are also deeply committed to our community. Landmark proudly supports local Realtors and gives back through organizations such as Faith Mission, Faith Refuge, the Food Bank, and other local charitable causes.

Jody Bussey

    Jody Bussey joined Landmark Title Company in June 2016 and currently serves as our Managing Partner and Majority Owner. A proud graduate of Petersburg High School (Class of 1997), Jody went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas A&M University in 2007.

    Jody is married to Ryan Bussey, and together they share five wonderful children. She is actively involved in their lives, dedicating much of her time to supporting their extracurricular activities and school events.

    Beyond her family and professional responsibilities, Jody is deeply committed to the Wichita Falls community. She serves on various local committees and supports numerous charitable organizations through both service and donations.

    Her leadership, dedication, and heart for the community are an essential part of what makes Landmark Title Company the trusted name it is today.

    Kayla Crowley

      Kayla Crowley is married to her husband, Scotty Crowley, and together they have three children and three grandchildren. Kayla and Scotty enjoy traveling and spending quality time attending their grandchildren’s activities.

      For Kayla, family is everything, and her strong values and love for her family shine through in everything she does—both personally and professionally.

        Shaylee began her journey with Landmark Title Company in 2017, first helping out by cleaning the office on weekends. After graduating from high school, she transitioned into a processing role, where she quickly demonstrated her strong work ethic, dedication, and attention to detail. Today, Shaylee proudly serves as Office Manager and Closer, playing a key role in ensuring smooth and successful transactions for our clients.

        Shaylee is married to her loving husband, Jared, and together they enjoy traveling and spending quality time as a family. They recently welcomed their first baby girl, Oaklee, who has quickly become the center of their world. Joining them on all of life’s adventures is their dog, Niko—a familiar and much-loved presence around the office. 

        Shaylee’s dedication to client service, keen attention to detail, and genuine warmth make her an essential and valued member of the Landmark Title Company team.

        Phillip Avery

          Phillip Avery joined Landmark Title Company in November 2022 and brings with him over 15 years of experience in the title industry. His extensive knowledge and sharp eye for detail make him one of the most trusted and respected Title Examiners in the region.

          Phillip began his career in 2008, working as a landman alongside his brother in West Texas, which sparked his interest in land records and title work.

          Outside of the office, Phillip is a big fan of the Grateful Dead and enjoys spending his weekends playing disc golf.

          Phillip’s depth of experience and laid-back nature make him an invaluable part of the Landmark Title team.

            Mitzy Bennett recently moved to the area from the small town of Anton, just outside Lubbock, Texas, along with her family. She is married to her hometown sweetheart, Cory Bennett, and together they are proud parents to two sons, Conner and Logan. Family time is very important to Mitzy, and she and her family enjoy camping trips and spending time at the lake whenever they have the chance.

            Mitzy brings a strong background in the title industry, with extensive experience handling a wide variety of responsibilities. She is recognized for her dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service. Mitzy’s passion for her work, combined with her family-oriented values, make her a trusted and valued member of our team.
